When looking at our finances I realized that the number one reason we built up debt is because of how much we spent on food. We eat out often, purchase lots of food and then watch it go to waste. So I decided that we are slashing our food bill from over $600 to $300 a month. $100 of that is for baby formula and the other $200 will cover my husband and I for the whole month. The difference will go to pay off debt. So we are basically paying debt off one meal at a time! Wish me luck!

First Walgreens Trip
I just got back from my first Walgreen trip. I had a $5 off 24oz. Good Start formula that printed out the last time I bought formula there and used the $5 off a $25 purchase with it. In order to reach the $25 requirement I bought:
25.7oz can of Good Start Formula - $26.49 - $5 off coupon.
12 oz. can of Good Start formula that was on clearance for $2.99!!!!
Suave conditioner - $1 (we needed conditioner anyway)
The total with tax came to $22.72!!!! That is a $20 savings!!!!
After I got home I realized I had a $2 coupon that I could have used on the small can of formula and it would have only been $.99 GRRR!!! Oh well, maybe I can use it when I go back to do a few more transactions tomorrow.
